FOUNDER OF CARTLAB SOLUTIONS

Welcome to CArtLab Solutions, where technical expertise meets a passion for innovation and a commitment to justice. Our founder and Principal, Carolyn L. Carta is the heart of our endeavors pumping out the simple mantra: let’s enjoy this complex research journey. We believe in a partnership where communication is key and thinking outside the box is not just encouraged but embraced.

Growing up in a diverse Italian American family instilled in Dr. CC values of work ethic, compromise, and adaptable leadership. Public speaking became second nature through organizing large family gatherings and orchestrating 50+ person meals, honing her ability to navigate complexity.

Her academic journey is a testament to her dedication. From a BFA program at SAIC to both a M.S. in chemistry from the College of William and Mary and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA, she crafted a unique technical path. Five transformative years at the Getty Conservation Institute honed her skills in innovative conservation practices for the iconic Walt Disney animation cels, contributing to the preservation of cultural treasures.

Amidst the 2020 pandemic, her focus shifted to sustainable additive manufacturing. Armed with equitable education and expertise in 3D printing, she now specializes in renewable polymer materials, creating solutions for eyeglass lenses, dental appliances, opthamology implantables, and biomaterial applications.

Her approach is not just technical; it’s interdisciplinary. As a technical leader, her goal is creative problem-solving for a more equitable future. Let’s embark on a journey where every project is a partnership, every challenge is an opportunity, and every stakeholder matters.
